Injectables are now such standard beauty tools that we hardly bat an eyelid if a friend or colleague mentions anti-wrinkle injections or filler. The days of disapproving looks and keeping secrets from friends and partners appear to be over, with surveys indicating that we’re talking about our cosmetic treatments more than ever.
There are many looks that injectables can achieve with ease, from softening and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles to increasing volume in the cheeks and lips. We can even give you a non-surgical nose job or chin augmentation using filler alone.
Many younger people prioritise preserving youthful-looking skin since the tools we have at our fingertips allow us to slow visible signs of ageing. Cosmetic injections are just part of life, the same way working out and taking vitamins are.
Being able to control visible signs of ageing is now within reach of everyone, rather than solely the wealthy’s domain.
The era of the video call
We’ve all spent a lot of time on video calls across the pandemic, and that has meant staring at ourselves for sometimes extended periods whether we like it or not. This extra self-reflection can reveal areas we’d like to improve the look of, for example, a double chin, jowls or bags under the eyes.
Minor enhancements to the skin or volume of the face can make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself and give extra confidence. When we combine anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler injections, we enhance your natural beauty and best features while minimising or offering a boost to other areas.
We often pair injectables with other skin treatments, such as laser or radiofrequency treatments, to ensure you get optimal results.
Full face optimisation, a.k.a. ‘the natural look’
Anti-wrinkle and filler injections don’t dramatically change how you look but act in more subtle ways to encourage the maximisation of natural beauty and optimisation of facial features.
A gentle lift here and a little sculpting there can improve the overall look of the face and neck, reducing the visible signs of ageing and adding more youthful touches. Our individualised strategies evolve with you using the power of anti-wrinkle injections and fillers in full-face optimisation.
At ENRICH Clinic, we aim to get you looking your best self across a lifetime, which means a personalised treatment plan and working on preventative measures where possible. Full face optimisation is likely to include our favourite injectables.
Not ‘will you’, but ‘when will you?’
There is no longer a question regarding who will use injectables, especially amongst Millennials and Gen Z. We’re now asking each other ‘which injectables are you using’ and ‘how often’, rather than ‘are you?’
However, these norms are generational, with Millennials and Gen Z starting preventative, cosmetic procedures in their 20s and 30s. At the same time, baby boomers and Gen X didn’t have the same opportunity for effective prevention, so they started a little later.
Posting a selfie and talking about cosmetic procedures are now hard to avoid on social media, especially now that algorithms chase us around with constant advertising.
Millions of people post videos about their beauty tips and tricks, cosmetic treatments they love, and comparing different procedures. The interest in beauty and availability of beauty content means our understanding and awareness of our options have grown exponentially. It’s everywhere. Seeing our friends and family posting about cosmetic treatments makes it much easier to take the plunge. Injectables are now the norm.
Everyone’s doing it – even people you wouldn’t expect
Once you start asking around, you realise people from all walks of life are using injectables. Anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections are among the fastest-growing cosmetic procedures globally as long as you have the money and the clinic within travel distance. Moreover, injections are in the lower-risk category of treatments (so long as an experienced, trained practitioner does them), and the return on investment is solid.
One benefit of injectables is that they are some of the most researched ingredients globally and are considered low risk in the right hands. In fillers, the main ingredient in the most popular brands are synthetic versions of a molecule naturally found in the human body. It’s hard to find a downside.
The injectables secret is out
A USA survey on 107 patients conducted in 2013 and again in 2019 asked those who had undergone cosmetic injections if they told their partner, best friend, wider friendship groups and family.
The results show that people talk about their injectable treatments with their partners, friends and family roughly twice as much as five years before. The age groups most likely to open up about cosmetic injections were those in their 30s and 40s.
Key findings of the study include:
- 67% told their partner in 2019 compared with just 40% in 2013
- 81% told their best friend in 2019 compared with just 53% in 2013
- 58% told other friends in 2019 compared with just 29% in 2013
- 62% told their family in 2019 compared with 33% in 2013
