Fat busters: our favourite non-surgical fat removal treatments and what they costFat dissolving injections are a non-surgical method of body contouring that are used to reduce localised, smaller areas of excess fat. They are best suited for removing smaller amounts of fat that deposit around the chin and jawline. The treatment is suitable for both males and females and can be uses as an alternative to liposuction for small deposits fat that are resistant to diet and exercise habits.

The process involves the injection of a compound that is medically proven to break down fat. The main ingredient is phosphatidylcholine, a natural occurring enzyme and one of the main components of soy lecithin. Lecithin has been medically proven to break down fat. The solution is injected directly into the subcutaneous fat in smaller, localised areas using tiny injections administered over several sessions. The end result is the removal of localised, smaller fat deposits.

The cost of the treatment will vary based on the area to be injected and what form of fat is located in the area. Your doctor will advise you on cost during your consultation. As a guide, fat dissolving syringes cost approximately $375 at ENRICH Clinic, however your treatment may require multiple injections. It is advised to come in for a no obligation consult prior to undertaking any treatment.

So, are fat dissolving injections for me?

Fat dissolving injections are best suited to people with smaller, localised fat deposits such as the jowls or cheeks. These areas of fat are difficult to shift or modify despite positive changes to diet and exercise. The injections do not tend to result in weight loss – instead, they help to modify the fat in smaller areas by dissolving it and tightening the surrounding. The treatment helps to modify the contours of the body.

But what happens if you have larger deposits of fat that you wish to remove, such as those in the thighs, stomach or arms? Fat dissolving injections are not well suited to larger treatments areas. For cases such as this, we suggest liposuction. It is important not to compare the results of liposuction to fat dissolving injections. Liposuction is a surgical method of removing larger amounts of fat. In contrast, the results of fat dissolving injections are also long-lasting but is overall a more gradual process that varies with time. That’s where the jewel in ENRICH Clinic’s crown, tumescent liposuction performed by Dr Michael Rich, comes in.

How many fat dissolving injection treatments will I require?

The number of treatments required will depend on the area of the body that is being treated. Treatments on the face or neck are generally spaced three to four weeks apart and require approximately three to five treatments. Treatments on the body, such as smaller deposits on the arms, are treated no more than eight weeks apart and also require three to five treatments.
