  • Using anti-wrinkle injections to save your blow dry

Some women are using anti-wrinkle muscle and nerve relaxant injections to keep their blow dry looking lovely for longer, as the neuromodulators help keep the scalp from sweating and spoiling the carefully created hairstyle. This keeps the hair looking great for longer before a new blow-dry is required.

This means that you could go to the gym and still have perfect hair afterwards. These injections are not considered dangerous – sweating conditions are treated using anti-wrinkle injections already. Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) can be treated using these carefully placed injections around the armpits, groin, hands and feet, with excellent results: you stop sweating in the treated areas. Using it on the scalp is no different.

Many people who sweat heavily during exercise may avoid exercise when their hair has just been done, because of this very problem. If people spend a lot of time at the gym and have expensive or time-consuming hair, scalp injections may provide a solution.

Scalp anti-wrinkle injections FAQ

  1. How does it work?
The nerve blocker in the injections stops the ‘sweat’ signal getting through to your scalp sweat glands. Little injections all over your scalp gives good coverage to block a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine.
  2. How long does it last?
The injections last up to six months, and the treatment will need to be repeated to maintain the effect.
  3. How many injections do I need?
You will need between 150-200 injections, over 15-20 minutes. It’s fast.
  4. Does it hurt?
The injections have minimum pain associated with them – the needle is very small and your cosmetic dermatologist will inject the ingredients into your hair follicles where possible. The treatment is well tolerated.
  5. How much does it cost?
This will depend on the time and amount of solution required, and will vary by clinic. Call for more information
  6. Will the injections affect my hair growth?
No. In fact, these scalp injections are being trialled for hair loss treatments, and could in fact result in thicker hair.
