Dermal fillers are used to bring volume to the face, with volume being either replaced or boosted. Volume is lost over time through the ageing process, but in some cases we may have dermal filler added for augmentation to facial structures like the nose, lips and chin. Dermal filler injections are not only used as an anti-ageing strategy, but a cosmetic augmentation tool.
Dermal filler injections can be used in many areas across the face with great effect.
Tear trough dermal fillers injection – Melbourne clinic
The tear troughs are a classic area we can use dermal filler injections, to reduce the appearance of under-eye bags. Filling in the tear trough a little can even out the ridge created by puffiness under the eyes, reducing the prominence of the bags. This provides a form of eye rejuvenation.
Nasolabial folds dermal fillers injection – Melbourne clinic
The nasolabial folds are the lines that appear next to our nose and mouth when we smile or laugh, joining the edge of our nostrils to the chin. We often use cheek filler with nasolabial fold dermal filler injections, to create a more youthful appearance without a drastic change.
Corners of the mouth dermal fillers injection – Melbourne clinic
The corners of the mouth can start to droop as we age, giving us a perpetually unhappy look. We can use dermal filler injections to create a more neutral looking mouth. These injections do not affect your ability to eat, drink, talk or express yourself.
Marionette lines dermal fillers injection – Melbourne clinic
These lines are so called because they are the same sort of lines on the chin found in puppets that ‘talk’ (marionette puppets). The chin on the puppet is built so it can move up and down to ‘talk’, and therefore there are lines where the moveable part is separate to the rest of the puppet’s face. In the human face, these lines are visible from the corners of the lips, down to the base of the chin. The reason these lines appear is, as we age, our facial bones start to lose volume and don’t hold their shape as well, causing these lines to appear. A dermal filler injection can fill these lines out, making them less visible.
Cheek dermal fillers injection – Melbourne clinic
One of the subtler areas that lose volume over time are the cheeks. Dermal filler injections into the cheeks can plump them out, sometimes dropping as much as a decade off your face. You won’t really notice the loss of volume from your cheeks much over time, at least not the same way you notice wrinkles, but you’ll notice the lines appearing next to your mouth (nasolabial folds). This loss of volume is fat loss, and it can hollow out your cheek bones, resulting in a gaunt, tired look.
Lips dermal fillers injection – Melbourne clinic
Lip filler is one of the most popular uses of dermal filler, with injections into the lip border or the lip body (top or bottom or both). Uneven lips can be corrected or thin lips may be bulked out a little.
Chin augmentation dermal fillers injection – Melbourne clinic
We can define the jawline with chin injections, as a temporary solution to a weak or uneven chin and jaw.
Nonsurgical nose job dermal fillers injection – Melbourne clinic
We can alter the shape of the nose, to make it smaller, bigger, or to point in a different direction. A nonsurgical nose job is a cheaper, less invasive way to make minor adjustments to the nose.
