Laser resurfacing for acne-scar removal

Laser resurfacing for acne-scar removal

Laser resurfacing can be performed on the full face, or only on the areas that have acne scarring. Treatment diminishes scarring, wrinkling and pigmentation of the aged and sun-damaged skin and helps to blend all areas.

a) Partial thickness resurfacing with UltraPulse CO2 laser and Asclepion Fractional Erbium.

What is UltraPulse CO2 laser and Asclepion Fractional Erbium?
UltraPulse is the best fractional CO2 in the world, while the Asclepion is the best fractional erbium laser with multiple settings, enabling the treatment to be tailored to the individual’s needs. The fractional laser’s intense beams result in quicker healing than full thickness resurfacing.

How many treatments are required?
Usually 2-4 treatments are needed to achieve a good result.

Recovery process
Downtime is around 5-7 days for the UltraPulse and 3-5 days for the Asclepion Fractional Erbium. Often this treatment can be combined with less aggressive fractional treatments, such as fractional radio frequency after the first treatment.

b) Full thickness resurfacing

What is it?
Full skin resurfacing is done with the CO2 or Erbium laser. This is often regarded as the gold standard treatment with results possibly the best of all treatments. Fractional Erbium is a newer technology, providing excellent results with less downtime.

Recovery process
This is a more aggressive treatment with a 2-3 week recovery period and redness which can persist beyond this time. Even with full face resurfacing, supplementing the treatment, once recovered, with a less invasive treatment with the Fractional Radio Frequency will further enhance the result.
