Lipodissolve

Lipodissolve

Lipodissolve is a non-surgical method of body contouring to reduce localised areas of excess fat. It is suitable for both males and females and can be used as an alternative to liposuction for small fatty deposits that cannot be removed through diet and exercise.

The process involves injections of a compound that is medically proven to break down fat. The main ingredient is phosphatidylcholine (PPC) which is a naturally occurring enzyme and the main component of soy lecithin. Lecithin has been medically proven to break down fat.

What is it for?
Lipodissolve is best used to reduce and sculpt small specific areas of the face, such as:

However, for larger fatty areas, liposuction is the best option.

What does it do?
Lipodissolve involves injections of a compound called Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) into small, localised fat deposits.

What happens during treatment?

  • Being a medical procedure, Lipodissolve at ENRICH is performed only by specialist doctors.
  • The solution is injected directly into the subcutaneous fat through tiny injections administered over multiple treatment sessions.
  • The desired end result is the removal of localised stubborn fat deposits.

How many treatments are required?

  • Treatments on the face are generally spaced 4 weeks apart and require 3- 5 treatments.
  • Body treatments are spaced no sooner than 8 weeks apart and require 3- 5 treatments.

Who is Lipodissolve suitable for?
Lipodissolve injections are suitable for people with small localised fat deposits, such as the jowls, which cannot be reduced by a change in diet or exercise. The injections do not usually result in weight loss – instead they help to modify body contours.

At ENRICH, we do not treat large fat deposits with Lipodissolve. Larger fat deposits do not respond well with this procedure, and are better suited to liposuction.

The effect of Lipodissolve must not be compared with liposuction, a surgical method of removing greater amounts of fat. The success of Lipodissolve is also long-lasting, but is a gradual process over a variable time.

How many treatments are required?

Usually 2-4 treatments are required, performed 1 month apart.

Recovery Process

  • Areas treated usually produce a sensation of heat and dull ache for about one hour.
  • Swelling, tenderness, sensitivity to pressure and sometimes bruising occurs.
  • Swelling can be marked for the first 5 days gradually subsiding over the next 2 to 4 weeks.

When are results visible?
Results are long-lasting, but gradual and take place over time. Skin laxity after dissolving fat is a risk; however, usually the opposite happens where skin retraction occurs due to the inflammatory response to the injections. So loose skin is an unlikely result.

Lipodissolve is generally a very safe procedure with low incidence of side effects which may include skin discolouration (reddening or pigmentation), nodules under the skin which generally soften and resolve with time, infection, allergic reaction, flushing, nausea, dizziness.
