If you’re on a quest for a non-surgical treatment to improve the appearance of your skin, you may have heard of Bio-remodelling injections.
But what exactly is Bio-remodelling, and why is it causing such a stir in the skincare world?
Whether you’re looking to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, add some volume to your face, or boost your skin’s overall feel, read on to learn more about this new treatment.
The Bio-remodelling product originates from Italy, and this skin treatment is one of the latest “skin trends” of 2022. Bio-remodelling intradermal treatments offer a non-surgical approach to improving skin texture, elasticity, hydration, and overall appearance. They can also help reduce pore size and skin quality.
Rather than adding volume to your face, which is what fillers do, this treatment is more of an overall hydration treatment. It also lays the foundation for ongoing collagen production and can lead to the remodelling of the extracellular matrix in terms of support and elasticity. Bio-remodelling is a hydration collagen-building orientated treatment, not comparable to other dermal treatments; however, it compliments them very well.
Bio-remodelling treatment uses a product made of a naturally derived substance found in animal and human tissue. In mammals, this substance works as a transportation mechanism, taking nutrients from the blood to the skin. This substance helps retain water for skin cell hydration, making our skin look hydrated and plump, joints and tissues lubricated. Our body produces less of it as we age, which can lead to dryness, wrinkles and loss of volume in our face.
This substance is synthetic and not derived from any animal. It is known as ‘nature-identical’, meaning it is more or less the same as what your body would make and behave in the same way.
You will also find this substance in some of our topical products, such as our ENRICH Radiance Hyaluronic B5 Gel or our ENRICH Vit A, B, C Antioxidant serum.
We also have on range, Profhilo Haenkenium, which also contains this substance and Salvia Haenkenium extract. It is a topical post-treatment that helps restore the protective barrier of sensitive and stressed skin, which is irritated and red due to oxidative stress or following aesthetic treatments. It can also be used daily to help protect the skin from premature aging caused by external stress factors (smoking, UV rays, diet etc.) and can improve skin quality.
Another reason this treatment is different from other treatments is its unique delivery system called Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP). BAP which involves the precision placement of five points into specific areas on your face that help promote collagen production throughout your entire face rather than just targeted areas.
Bio-remodelling can help reduce signs of ageing, such as wrinkles and sagging skin, but it also improves skin texture and hydration even if not totally visible at first. In addition, its natural hydrating properties help if you’re looking for longer-lasting results than those offered by serums alone. It also builds the base for future collagen production, and with repeat treatments, this base will continue to build and produce.
We can tailor treatments specifically to your needs; our practitioners can inject different concentrations at different depths depending on what the areas need.
It’s important to remember that this treatment is all about hydration and collagen first, not giving volume and that the body will eventually absorb this product.T
The procedure for bio-remodelling injections typically begins with a consultation to determine if the treatment is appropriate for you and to establish a treatment plan. During the consultation, we discuss any concerns you may have. You will be handed consent forms and depending on the timing of your actual treatment , you may be asked to fill out and return on the day.
Treatment:
It’s important to note that individual results may vary depending on the person’s skin condition and the extent of the treatment. Sometimes, you may need multiple treatments to achieve the desired results. Our nursing team or cosmetic consultant will advise you on how many treatments may be necessary before you book and when to schedule follow-up appointments.
Like any medical procedure, Bio-remodelling may cause some side effects.
The most common side effects include swelling and bruising, which usually subside within a day or two. Itching or redness at the treatment area may also occur and should disappear within a day or two.
However, contact us immediately if any side effects persist or become severe or you are just concerned in general.
The effects of Bio-remodelling typically last for up to 6 months. This is because the body gradually breaks down the treatment product over time. However, individual results may vary depending on your skin condition and the extent of the treatment.
Note that the effects of this treatment are not permanent, and maintenance treatments may be necessary to maintain the results.
The more treatments you have, the longer the effects will last. Think of it as a bit of a building block. As the treatment stimulates collagen production, the results should improve over time. We often suggest two treatments to start with, followed by one to two treatments per year as maintenance – but again, this is very patient and skin quality dependent.
If you’re considering Bio-remodelling injections to improve the appearance of your skin, you may be wondering what other treatments can work well with them.
Bio-remodelling is different from other moulding invasive treatments. Think of it not as a replacement treatment but as an addition to the skin care toolbox. It can also be a starter treatment, as its “natural looking “finish is for those who are concerned about an “overfilled” appearance. It’s ‘all over hydration’ can also help more mature skin look refreshed and aid in reducing fine lines.
One popular treatment to pair up with bio-remodelling is wrinkle reducing treatments. Our PDO threads are also an add on treatment as Bio-remodelling gives hydration, and PDO threads concentrate collagen production and support skin structure. The threads tighten and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by gradually stimulating collagen and elastin production within the skin over time. PDO threads tighten skin for 6-12 months after the procedure, resulting in the thread matrix supporting the structure of the face by increasing collagen production. Then, the face thread dissolves entirely over time, leaving just the supportive collagen. These two treatments must be performed on separate days.
Laser treatments to clear your sun or age spots are also an option; however, if you’re planning on having laser treatments, you should wait at least six weeks after your Bio-remodelling injections or have a laser treatment three weeks prior to a Bio-remodelling treatment.
The Secret skin needling is another treatment that works very well with Bio-remodelling. The Secret has an RF laser complement to its treatment, so the same time frames as other lasers apply. Why? Laser treatments can cause inflammation and swelling, affecting the injections’ results.
Book your Bio-remodelling appointment at ENRICH clinic, and our team looks forward to helping you add Bio-remodelling to your skin plan.
