Nose Fillers Melbourne

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

There are a few things you can have done cosmetically to your nose: surgery to reshape it, filler to remodel it, and skin modifiers such as pore-reducing procedures to smooth, tighten or refine skin.

Getting your nasal area reshaped surgically is known as a rhinoplasty, but most people just call it a ‘nose job’. We do not perform surgical rhinoplasty procedures at ENRICH Clinic.

A non-surgical rhinoplasty is also called a nose filler procedure.

Having more balanced facial features

Facial fashions evolve over time, just like everything else. Most importantly, you look natural and any modifications suit you. Your facial features come as a package deal, your practitioner should keep this in mind when planning nose procedures.

How we perform  a nose filler  procedure

A non-surgical nose job involves the use of dermal fillers as a reshaping tool. Dermal filler is injected in several areas of the nose   Nose fillers can be used to increase the height of a flat bridge, straighten, fill in any hollows or hooks, create a sense of balance or create symmetry.  A non-surgical rhinoplasty is temporary, while a surgical rhinoplasty is permanent. These are significantly different procedures, and there will be times when one is more appropriate than the other.

Nose fillers do come with risks as does any procedure so please read your consent forms and discuss any concerns you have with your doctor.  Our doctors at ENRICH clinic will go through all the risks associated with nos fillers with you before your procedure.

Nose filler procedure   – recovery and results

A nose filler procedure recovery does come with some swelling that dissipates over a week. Results are usually instant but temporary, but no invasive surgery is required, reducing healing time in comparison to a surgical nose job. The surgical and non-surgical nose procedures are not comparable.

A surgical rhinoplasty is a long-lasting procedure (so no repeat visits), recovery takes months, and more severe or major irregularities can be corrected.

How can you change the shape of my nose?

Typically, we are not looking to give you a ‘perfect’ nose, but one that suits your face shape and complements your features. Each face is unique in its details and ratios, so your practitioner will assess your face to determine the best pathway to balance and discuss this with in detail.

Expectations matter, so if you are after an improvement in your appearance,  we need to work together to achieve a result that is realistic.

Other procedures that may be combined with a nose filler procedure.

Complements to your nose filler could include anti-wrinkle injections on other parts of your face, liposuction of the chin or neck area, or skin-tightening anti-wrinkle procedures.

Is there a ‘best’ age for a nose filler procedure ?

Young people’s features haven’t finished developing, so anyone under the age of 20 will need a special sort of assessment – that is, psychological reasons for wanting a nose filler procedure , along with an examination of physical maturation.

Once we hit 40, our skin starts to change, and other considerations, such as skin elasticity and oiliness, need to be assessed.

What issues nose fillers can help with

  • Bridge corrections – lumps, bumps, dips
  • Correcting a crooked nose
  • Lengthening the nose
  • Balancing facial features
  • Adjusting the relationship between the upper lip and the nose
  • Tip angle

Taking ethnicity into account

At ENRICH Clinic, we take your ethnic background into account when determining the augmentation of facial features, especially the nose. Each of us has an ethnic background that genetically determines what our nose looks like, and how it fits into the greater picture of our faces.

Enhancing the balance of those features is our goal. We will always make sure that after a nose filler procedure, your nose still reflects your facial profile

Getting what you want

You need to be clear what you want out of your nose procedure so you can explain this to your practitioner at your consultation. More than one visit may be required before the nose augmentation with filler is performed, with scans and other tests required to get a full overview of the nasal structures.

Nose Filler FAQ

We apply nose filler with a series of strategically placed injections of a special dermal filler. We use a topical anaesthetic to dull the injections, which cause a slight sting. Our priority is your comfort, so we work with you to ensure you are always comfortable. There is no need to be afraid of a painful procedure or recovery, but you can expect a little redness and swelling post-procedure due to the inflammation caused by introducing a substance by injection into the skin.

Results are visible immediately; however, the filler does need to settle and the slight swelling and redness to subside. The swelling will reduce and the filler settle over 1-2 weeks.

Because we look at facial features as a whole, making a prominent nose appear less prominent is not as contradictory as it might appear at first glance. By creating symmetry and modifying the angles of the nose, we can make it appear smaller in some cases, even though we are adding volume.

The strategically placed injections work to balance out facial features, lumps, bumps and ridges.

It’s important to realise that fillers by their nature add volume. It’s the strategy part of the treatment that tricks the eye. Your nose will be larger after treatment but may look smaller, symmetrical and straighter.

Each of you will have a different nose, thus how many millilitres of filler liquid are required to get the desired result will vary, sometimes considerably. You’ll need to speak directly with your cosmetic doctor in your appointment to get an accurate quote. We dispense the products by the millilitre, and each dose has a set cost.

There are risks with all medical and cosmetic procedures, especially with injections. There are risks to doing filler injections facially, particularly if the filler substance gets into the bloodstream accidentally.

Wrongful placement of injections is usually more of a problem with untrained, inexperienced practitioners.

A rare risk is a compromised blood supply when the filler gets into arteries that supply the nose or eyes. If filler gets into an artery, it can cause a blockage, which results in the affected tissue lacking needed blood supply.  Local blood supply integrity is of great importance, so having a well-trained practitioner is key. This undesirable situation can affect the nose and eyes, depending on which artery is affected.

In Australia, there has been some cases of blindness from filler.  Previous nasal surgery can increase risks. .

Unexpected adverse reactions to the filler we use can happen, it’s not impossible to have a bad reaction to an injection. We monitor you after treatments and are available 24 hours a day if something seems to be going badly. We are all unique and can react in unexpected ways.

Because the nose is a low-movement area, dermal filler treatments last up to two years. It lasts so long because the nose hardly moves at all, which results in the filler staying put for a long time before it absorbs into the body. The lips, on the other hand, are a high-movement area, so lip filler lasts months, not years.

You will need to have the treatment repeated every 18 months to two years. The filler is a temporary augmentation, which is just how we like it. Temporary means you can go back to your regular nose naturally over time if that’s what you want.

You will see results immediately, but as the injection sites settle, you’ll see the final look over the course of about ten days. You can expect some swelling after treatments, but this will dissipate naturally as your body accepts the filler, deeming it to fit in with your body (as opposed to being a foreign substance even though it is developed in a lab).

If for some reason you aren’t happy with your new nose, we can inject a dissolving substance into the treated area. We can also modify the filler that already exists with tweaks, adding and subtracting as needed.

You will receive post procedure directions from your prationair.  Avoid massaging  and touching the area. Massaging will dislodge the filler and may cause irregularities, especially at first. Once the product settles into your nose, you can behave normally and touch your face, blow your nose, and make faces to your heart’s content. We will instruct you on how to care for your new nose at your appointment.
